every year. The Indian student population seeking
education in France is also growing. Education here is
subsidized by the state, making it affordable.
Education in France is basically classified into two
categories. One is the University type and the other is
"Grandes Ecoles" (popularly known as Competitive
Institutes). There are about 87 universities and over
300 Grandes Ecoles. The universities offer general
courses and professional courses. The universities cover
all disciplines and trains students for research.
Admission to the Grandes Ecoles includes a rigorous
selection process and offers courses that are career
oriented.
France Visa
Procedure The procedure is as
follows
First
Step
create an online Campus France
registration file on www.india.campusfrance.org Please
contact the nearest CampusFrance office for further
information (see below). Edufrance Desk will provide
you: general information on higher education in France
help in your search for the right school to suit your
needs practical information on life in
France. Second Step
obtain a
No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the designated
official. You can schedule an appointment through the
online file or by calling/mailing the CampusFrance
official.
For Interview
Students residing out of Mumbai can ask for an
appointment at the nearest Alliance
Française/CampusFrance office. Contact details of the

Interview
Following documents are required
in 2 sets of photocopy and originals for verification:

A letter
of registration / admission from a French Academic
Institution.
»
Proof of resources
for tuition fees and 500 Euros/month for living expenses
during the period of stay (1 year)
housing, food, medical expenses, transport
etc.,) or a sponsorship letter for accommodation from
the city where you plan to
study along with supporting documents showing
availability of a minimum of 250 Euros per month for living
expenses.

Proof of
accommodation in France for the period of stay.
»
Short Bio-data.
»
4
passport size photographs with light background.
»
Copies of your
degrees / diplomas and certificates
(+2/BA/BSc/BE/MA/MSc)
»
Copy (first 2
pages) of valid passport for the entire period of stay
in France.
»
Air ticket or
Reservation print out of Air ticket.
»
For short and long
duration stay in France the student should take a
comprehensive "overseas medical
policy and repatriation
policy" for 3 months (copy to be attached).
»
A demand draft of
Rs 6500,- in favour of “CEDUST” payable at New Delhi
(CampusFrance registration fee)
is to be submitted on the
day of the interview or on a prior date.
Third Step
After obtaining the
NOC, the student will be given a presentation letter in
view of the appointment with the Consulate through VFS
(tel : 022 66314000, web : www.vfs-france.co.in) .
